In general, there was an increase in the proportion of students choosing UK University because of its suitable degree couruses and being close to parental, while a decline was seen in the percentage of students with the rest reasons. In addition, the students choosing the university as its suitable degree couruses consistently had the highest figures throughout the period.
The percentage of students studying at this school by its suitable degree couruses started at 35%, after which it saw a slight increase to 37% in 2007. Additionally, only 10% of students chose to study in the UK University by being close to their parents in 1987, with a subsequent two-fold rise to 22% after 20 years.
The figures for the percentage of pupils who decided to study in UK University because of its quality of teaching and resource decreased by 7% and 4% respectively, ending at 8% and 17%. A similar change, but to a much greater extent, was seen in the feature "Good sports and social activities" , which declined sharply from 19% to 6% throughout the twenty-year period.
