The graph below shows the average daily spend of three categories of international visitor to New Zealand from 1997 to 2017.
The bar chart compares the average apartment prices from 1990 to 2002 with the mean apartments in 1989 in five different cities, namely New York, Madrid, Tokyo, Frankfurt, and London.
It is clear that the mean house prices in most cities had increased significantly between 1990 and 2002, and the bulk of the cities’ mean house prices was higher between 1996 and 2002 than in 1989. However, the mean housing charge in Frankfurt decreased slightly between 1996 and 2002 compared with the average housing charge in 1989.
Between 1990 and 1995, most of the mean housing charges in five cities were around 5% lower compared with 1989, despite the mean housing charges in Madrid and Frankfurt being about 2% more versus 1989. In the following six years, from 1996 to 2002, the prices in New York and London rose by around 10%, and in Madrid and Tokyo, they rose by approximately 3%, while Frankfurt saw a decrease of about 1%.
Finally, in comparison with the mean housing prices in 1989 in different cities, the expenses of an apartment in New York and Madrid are about 5% above. In Frankfurt, it is only 1% higher, while the fee in London is 11% above. However, the house price in Tokyo is still 5% below the mean housing prices in 1989.
