This report derives from the presented pictorial delineating the development of horses over forty million years.
Generally speaking, the described evolution started as Ephippus and ends with modern horses. There are major changes in foot structures in the specific time.
A glance at the diagram reveals that, about 40 million years ago, Eohippus legs had only three fingers all of them were nearly equal in length and width. After 10 million years, they converted into Mesohippus. Moreover, their middle finger was more firm as well as slightly taller than their ancestors. However, the legs of Merychippus had much longer and stronger middle bone when compared to Mesohippus.
Turning to modern horses, they had a gone through major structural changes compared to their precedents. The legs of horses are now much more well constructed with four bones that support them to run faster. This structure exhibits a hoof at the bottom which was missing previously. It is supported by a small rectangular bone followed by two long skeletons.
