Overall, the Japanese tourists travelling abroad was increased from 1985 to 1995 with similar increment of Australia’s share of Japan’s tourist market
He bars chart depicts increase in Japanese tourists gradually except in 1991, where it is decreased. In 1985, it was about 5 million tourists which in 1995 was increased to about 15 million. The increased number per year of visiting other nations by Japanese was about 1 to 3 million. Similarly, the decreased in numbers in year 1991 was also about 1 million.
Regarding share of Japanese tourist market of Australia, it was seen that the trend was increased gradually except two years – in 1989 and 1994. In the first year, there was rapid increase of about 2%. After that, the market was seen to be increased slowly. The two drops of share in 1989 and 1994 were about 0.5%. the overall increase of Australia’s share of Japan’s tourist market till 1995 was about 5% increase.
