The two pie charts illustrate the proportion of various types of sources that cause greenhouse gas emissions in Australia and New Zealand last year. Overall, in both nations, the most significant sources of greenhouse gas emissions were agricultural methane and transport, which together accounted for over half the production of greenhouse gases, while waste and industrial processes and solvents generated the least amount of gases in both countries. Greenhouse gas emissions produced by agricultural methane comprised of 29% in Australia, compared to the figure for New Zealand, at 32%. Meanwhile, transport generated 25% in Australia, however, the figure was only 19% in New Zealand. With regard to the remaining sector, agricultural nitrous oxide from the two nations was 11% and 15% respectively. In addition, the respective amount of gas emissions from electricity generation in Australia and New Zealand was 19% and 10%. However, only 7% of other energy in the production of greenhouse gas emissions in Australia, and 16% of the figure in New Zealand. The two sources that emitted the least greenhouse gas emissions in the two nations together constituted under 10% each.
