The presented diagram depicts how sugar is generated from sugar cane.
It is clear that there are seven main stages in the process of making sugar, from the initial growing of sugar cane to the eventual drying and cooling.
In the first stage of this process, this plant is planted in the fields between 12 and 18 months. After that, harvesting is carried out by either agricultural machines or workers, depending on the scale of the plantations and the available equipment. The harvested sugar cane is then crushed by a grinder machine in order to obtain juice.
The four and five stages involve syrup production. The liquid generated from the previous phase is purified by a limestone filter before being heated to become syrup through evaporation. Following this, sugar crystals are separated from syrup by a centrifugal machine. Finally, these substances will pass through the drying and chilling process to make the end product: sugar.
