The two given line charts illustrate how many students, categorised in two main groups, enrolled in universities in Australia within a decade from 2001.
Overall, it is reported that total overseas and local students numbers witnessed an upward trend within the given period. It is also worth pointing out that the number of Australian students starting their further education had a tendency to be steady.
To begin with, initially, there were around 20 thousand international students in total, in which just more than a half of them were new students. Over the next 10 years, the total number of foreign students in Australia experienced a soar, reaching at 50 thousand students. Similarly, depite a slow rise within the first 5 years, the figure for students from other countries in Australia increased significantly to roughly 30 thousand in 2009, before flattening out at the end.
Turning to the second graph, it is recorded that there was a dramatic increase of approximately 200 thousand in the total number of Australian students in the first 6 years. However, until 2010, this figure was reported to witness no changes. Showing a different pattern, the number of new Australian students in tertiary educational instutions underwent a slight fluctuation and stood at just over 200 thousand students at the end
