The line chart illustrates how many hours being spent by four different car brands to produce vehicles in the US from 1998 to 2005.
Overall, there was a decrease in the the amount of time to produce cars, with the most dramatic decline being seen in the latter. Additionally, Toyota and Honda observed a significant fluctuation in the number of hours to produce cars throughout the period.
Looking at the chart in more detail, in 1998, among the four brands, Toyota and Honda spent the the smallest hours manufacturing cars, with negligible figures of 22 hours each. Although Toyota and Honda experienced a minor fluctuation in the time spending to produce cars, the figure for two car brands did not change in 2001. The amount of time being spent by Toyota and Honda to produce cars rose steadily to 24 hours in the next year, after which fluctuated again and finally reached at 20 hours.
With regard to the remaining car brands, in 1998, General Motor was the leading car manufacturers in the average hours to produce vehicles, reporting 32 hours. In the following years, the figure for General Motor sharply decreased to 22 hours by the end of the period. Meanwhile, the number of hours being spent by Ford saw a minor fluctuation, reaching around 31 hours in 2001 before dropping gradually to under 22 hours.
