Overall, the majority of young people choose private studios as the main location of dance classes, whereas college-based studios are the least common location. In addition, children are interested in ballet and tap dance; by contrast, adolescents are in favor of modern ones.
Looking at the pie chart in more detail, nearly half of young participants practice dancing in private studios. In comparison, around a quarter of them take part in dance classes in school halls (after school). Meanwhile, the figure for community halls and other accounted for only 18%, compared to the least popular location of dance classes, only 10%.
Turning to the three class types, ballet is the most prevalent dance class for children with 600 students engaging in this course, nearly twofold to that of youngsters. Additionally, tap ranked second in the number of participants under 11, roughly 450 students, in comparison with adolescents, only 410 students. With regard to the remaining types of dance classes, only 300 students under 11 attend this course, compared to a much higher number of participants aged 11-16, around 510 students.
