In some countries, people spend long hours at work.
Why does this happen?
and is it positive or negative development?
Nowadays people have to work extra hours in some countries. This essay will show why this happens and why it is a negative phenomenon.
To begin with, the most obvious reason why people spend a lot of time at work is because they have to have enough money for themselves. This is especially true in developing countries like Vietnam or China where many young adults, who are from poor families, need to work overtime to pay for their living expenses. Therefore, if they do not try hard to earn as much money as they can, they will experience many financial problems, such as debts, and also become a burden for their family. As a result, many young people today are under great financial pressure to sustain themselves, especially at the early stages of their career.
Admittedly, while working long hours can help a person earn more money, it also has some negative impacts on their life. This is because working over long periods of time without enough rest could lead to a lot of stress, and stress is the main cause of different problems in life. For example, when people feel stressed out, they tend to get angry easily which can be harmful to their relationships. Moreover, anger can make people act violently, which is also very detrimental to their career. Thus, it is important to be careful with your health and not to work overtime a lot.
In conclusion, one of the main reasons for people to invest a lot of time into work is covering their living costs. However, although it is necessary to have money for personal needs, people also need to know when to work less to protect their relationships and career.
