Teachers should be paid according to how much their students learn Do you agree or disagree

Essay topics:

Teachers should be paid according to how much their students learn. . Do you agree or disagree?

Whether teachers should be paid according to how much students learn remains a question of heated debate. In my opinion, teachers shouldn’t be paid based on how much students learn for a variety of reasons.
First of all, this method would benefit neither teachers nor students. If teachers are paid according to how much students learn, they will push students to work too hard and force too many subjects onto students. This will make the lectures uninspiring and even foster an unhealthy school environment. In the long run, it will deprive students of enthusiasm and exposed them to negative thoughts such as dropping out of school. Also, not all the teachers are conscientious. They may start cheating on their students as soon as they get to know they will be paid based on their students’ improvements. For instance, they may not cover the whole syllabus for that particular semester and only teach the students those important questions that will appear on their final exams. Therefore, the students’ time and money would be wasted. More seriously, the sacred and respected profession of teaching will lose its value.
Secondly, how much students learn depends much on their intellectual capacities. A teacher’s explanation may conduce a better grasping of knowledge for some students but may not be suitable for others. Some students may perceive knowledge quickly, while others find it hard to understand and do not like attending the lectures. This can be quite tough for the teachers to deal with these students. To put the discussion into a wider context, consider a hard-working teacher who tries his level best to motivate his weak students, but the students do not show any signs of self-determination. In this way, it is unfair to evaluate the teachers based on the students’ improvements.
To recapitulate, based on the above discussion, although it is essential for the teachers to concern about their teaching methods and their students, it is not fair for them to be judged and paid based on their students’ performance.
