Some people say that outdoor activities bring benefits to children's development rather than computer games, To what extent do you agree/disagree?
It is true that there are some opinions that outdoor activities have several beneficial impacts on the development of children, particularly when compared with the impacts of computer games. From my perspective, I partly agree with this point of view, and I believe that both types of activities bring possitive effects on kids for several reasons.
On the one hand, children can have various merits by spending time playing outside. Ininitially, one of the most major benefits is physical health. Outdoor activities can encourage children do exercises, play sports which can improve their fitness, endurance and cognitive. In fact, there are numerous children suffering from some physical issues, obesity and eyesight issues for example, as sitting too much time in front of screens. Consequently, engaging in physical activities, children can be prevented from sedentary lifestyle, as a result, the risk of such health issues can also be reduced. Moreover, outdoor activities also enhance various personal skills in children, for instance communication skills and teamwork.
On the other hand, that is not to say that computer games do not bring benefits to children. Firstly, there are a lot of online games letting children build and decorate their own cities that can improve their imagination as well as brain development. In addition, many research studies have shown that children who play some types of game such as puzzle games tend to be have quicker way to solve problems. And not to mention, playing online games is one of ways to help children relax, where they can easy to connect with their peers. Although spending too much time on game consules has detrimental effects on children’s physical condition, it is not the case anymore if parents can set the limitation of playing time of their kids.
In conclusion, while I accept that outdoor activities bring several merits to children’s development, I still believe that children can also benefits from computer games for several reasons.
