The bar graph illustrates the differences of average house prices in five cities between 1990----1995, compared with the figure in 1989.
According to the first stage, it is clearly to see that only the percentages of average house prices in Madrid and Frankfurt are above 0, which are about 2% and 3% respectively. While 3 cities average house prices experienced a downward trend, the most distinct change was the figure of Tokyo(down about 7.5%),followed by that of London and New York(approximately 7% and 5% respectively).
In the second stage between 1996----2002, there was only one city that the percentage of average house prices compared with 1989 below 0, which was about 5. What’s more, four cities figure of changes increased, and the most dramatic rise was observed in London, which rose by more than 10% . For the other 3 cities(New York, Madrid and Frankfurt), the percentage changes from 1989prices were no more than 5%.
All in all, most cities’ house prices experienced a decline in the first 5 years from 1990 to 1995, whereas in the next 6 years from 1996 to 2002, the prices got improved.
