Market share (in percentage) of different notebook manufacturers in 2006 and 2007.
The table gives information about the global market share of different laptop manufacturers in 2006 and 2007. Overall, it is clear that HP remained the highest in market share with a slight increase at the end of the period.
In 2006, nearly one-third of the market share was under HP. By 2007, it increased slightly and at that time, it had just over one-third of the market share. Dell had the second largest market share individually, at 16.6%. However, by 2007, it increased noticeably and then it had around one-fifth of the total market share.
Acer had about only one-tenth of the market share with a marginal decline in 2007. Both Toshiba and Lenovo had closely the same share, at around 6%, however, by 2007, Toshiba gained around 1% point while Lenovo’s share declined minimally. Fujitsu/Siemens experienced a decline of almost half percentage point, from 4.8% to 2.3%. Noticeably, nearly a quarter of the market share was gained by other manufacturers aggregately, however, it declined by around 3% point in 2007.
