The graph below shows the population change between 1940 and 2000 in three different counties in the U.S. state of Oregon.

The line graph illustrates the changes of the population in the time span between 1940 and 2000 in Columbia, Yamhill and Washington which are counties of the United States state of Oregon.

It is clear from the graph that each county of Oregon state reveal an increasing trend over all the years. However, Washington was evidently the county most populated whereas Columbia and Yamhill shared pretty much the same amount of population.

In 1940, inhabitants of Washington were exactly 75,000 whereas those of the other two counties were around 30 thousand. In the following thirty years, Washington increased quite sharply at just above 120,000, while Columbia and Yamhill saw a more moderate growth in the population, accounting almost 37 and 45 thousand inhabitants.

Since 1970 to 2000, both three counties experimented a steeper rise than that of the previous years but Washington remained the county with the most considerable increase. In fact, it climbed to nearly 240,000 people in 2000 while Columbia and Yamhill present in the same year figures of 75 and 90 thousand respectively.
