Write a letter to a friend telling him/her that you’re going back to your home town and you want to give him/her some furniture. Please say
– why you thought about him/her
– describe the furniture
– suggest a way for him/her to get it
Dear Mike,
Hope you are doing well. It has been a long time since we last met. I am writing to inform you that I have recently cleared the interview of a Public sector bank for the position of Information Technology specialist and have been posted in my hometown. I am really excited and looking forward to this opportunity as I always wanted to work in my hometown and stay with my parents. Since I will be moving out very soon from Perth I will surely miss the great times we had together in Sydney.
For your information, I will be disposing of most of my items here in Sydney to save on my shipping cost. I remember the last time you mentioned that you were looking out for a used dining table and some chairs. I had recently bought one from IKEA. It is a modular dining table made of teak with four fancy chairs which have leather seats to provide extra comfort.
Why don't you come over to my apartment on the coming weekend to have a look at the furniture?. If you like it I will ask a local transporter to ship to it your house.
I look forward to your immediate response.
Warm wishes
Brian
