As can be seen from the chart Portugal experienced a sharp rise from 1 metric tonnes in 1967 to just over 5 metric tonnes in 1997.after that amount of carbon dioxide emissions per person was steady almost 5.2 metric tonnes by the end of period.
The most notable feature was that the U.K maintained its high emission to the throughout of the period with its peak in 1967 when 11 metric tonnes was the volume of carbon dioxide emissions per person to about 9 metric tonnes in 2007.
In Italy in the beginning of the period was a bit higher than 4. However, it increased only till 7.8 by 2007. As regards Sweden, the figure for average CO2 emissions per person increased between 1967 and 1977, when it peaked at just over 10 metric tonnes. Then it steeply decreased until 1987, followed by a gradul decline until 2007.In 2007 the emission in Sweden was at the same level with Portugal around 5.5.
There are two trends visible in the date. United Kingdom and Sweden experimented Steady fall while Portugal and Italy climbed significantly.
