The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.
The maps illustrate how currently the centre of a town named Islip is and its changes in the future.
Overall, except school in the south of the map and the blocks of shops bellow the main road, other constructions will be replaced according to the planned development. Besides, a road called Dual carriageway will appear and cover most of buildings in this centre.
At first glance, it is clear that there will be a construction of Dual carriageway which will limit nearly all of infrastructure in the centre from school and housing in the bottom of the map. Next, the lots of shop above the main road will be demolished to make way for new bus station, shopping centre, car parking and new housing in the future while the main road will be broadened and used by walking people only.
In the future, it is expected that the shops bellow the map will remain, although they will be also moved in the southern direction a little bit. In addition, the current housing in the central town is expected to relocate to the left and an another new housing will appear too. Moreover, the park on the east of the town will be planned to become smaller while the housing beside the Dual carriageway will be removed to the right of the map.
