Nowadays, high increase in Carbon dioxide emission has been recorded in most of the countries. The above given line graph depicts the information about the average CO2 emitted per individual in the following regions: United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.Each country shows different patterns of emission. CO2 emitted by person living in United Kingdom has reached 11 metric tonnes, which is highest when compared to other countries. But, there is stability in the rate for one year and after 1977, we can observe that the emission rate has fallen to 9 metric tonnes. Suddenly there’s a change in the rate of emission which drops drastically from 1987. When compared between the countries, emission from Portugal is minimal about 4.5 metric tonnes. The emission rate in Sweden has progressively increased during 1977 and was recorded as second highest country. Yet, it has steep decrease in the rate of emission since 1977 to 2007. At the initial stage, Italy has reached 6.5 which was second minimal country after Portugal. But, we can notice that, there a steep increase and decrease in the rate of emission between 1987-2007.
According to my observation, United Kingdom is the highest country and Portugal is the lowest country in emission of carbon dioxide per individual.
