The graph below shows the percentage of population in cities since 1970s with projection to 2030.
Given is the graph illustrating the changes in city population in four different countries between 1970 and 2030.
It is clear from the graph that the trend in all countries generally increases during the examined period. Remarkably, the Chinese population is expected to rise significantly into the foreseeable future.
In 1970, there was a big difference in the number of residents between the USA, Korea, China and India, with the highest percentage of 70% in the USA, the figure for Korea was considerably lower, at 40%, while China and India made up only 20%. Until the 1990s, the percentage of an alteration in city dwellers in the USA, Korea, and India continued a stable climb with slight acceleration, however, China still remained unchanged.
After flattening out in 20 year's time, Chinese citizens received appreciable acceleration to 60% in 2010, which was threefold compared to its previous time. In the next 20 years, the proportion of residents in India is predicted to be the lowest of the total group, at about 39%, while Americans and Korean will jump further to peak at 90%. At the same time, the Chinese population followed by a period of stability which will be nearly 70%.
