The diagram depicts information about energy consumption by fuel in U.S from 1980 to 2030 in quadrillion units.
In an overview, it can be noticed that U.S relied more on nonrenewable sources and is predicted to remain in same trend as oppose to renewable sources in later years.
As can be depicted from the figure that, petrol and oil which was the most used source of energy in the initial year is predicted to rise for about 50 quadrillion units in 2030. Similar trend of increment can be seen for coal however, in lesser quantities.
As for natural gas, although the use fluctuated between 25 to 17 quadrillion units from 1993 to 2015, it is expected to remain constant at 25 quadrillion units until the projected years. nuclear, solar/wind and hydropower which was the least used source of energy in the initial years is estimated to increase by 2 and 1 for nuclear and solar/wind respectively. Incase of hydropower, although erratic trend for first 3 decades it will level off at its initial level in 2030.
