The line graph illustrates the disparity in the percentage of households car ownership in Great Britan from 1961 to 2001. As can be seen from the chart, most households tend to possess one car during the 40 years period.
Evidentially, in 1961, around 65% of british households did not own a car while there was only 35% of those own one car and no one have two or more cars.
However, changes started in the next 20 years. The percentage of british families have one car reach a peak at 50% and nearly 15% of those own two or more cars which is in contrast to the proportion of british families who do not have a car. The proportion dropped dramatically to about 35%.
During the next 20 years period, the proportion of families owns two cars or more rose fastly to just under 30% whereas there was around 45% of families possessed one car. The percentage of household did not own any cars declined sharply to just under 30% as well.
