You are unhappy about a plan to make your local airport bigger and increase the number of flights. You live near the airport.
Write a letter to your local newspaper. In your letter
• Explain where you live
• Describe the problem
• Give reasons why you do not want this development
Dear Sir,
I am writing in reference to inform you about my discontent about the latest infrastructural developments plans for making the airport bigger and consequent increase in the number of flights. Allow me to explain the situation in detail.
To elucidate I am a local resident of Palm islands and my house is located in the close vicinity of the airport. As you are aware that the current airport is a defence airport with a lower frequency of flights however the local government plans to commercialize the airport by expanding it and increasing the number of flights. Although such a move may be beneficial for the state however it is going to affect the local resident in many ways. Firstly, the expansion of the airport means extensive infrastructural works which will have an effect not only on the demography of the island but the flora and fauna as well. Additionally increasing the number of flights would mean an increase in noise pollution which will make the life of local residents miserable.
Hence I would request you to publish this article in your newspaper so that more and more people are aware of this and can come and join this cause to prevent the construction of the airport.
I look forward to receiving your reply.
Yours faithfully
Saad
