The female professor in the lecture finds it useless to use the advice in the reading which is aim to stop the spread of the cane toad. In other words, she casts doubt on what the reading passage states. And in the lecture, she uses three convincing points to support her idea.
To begin with, the author of the reading passage contends that we can build a national fence to reduce the harmful impact. The speaker, however, refutes that national fence will not work since most young cane tone and eggs are in the stream which could carry the eggs to the other side of the fence. Apparently the idea of the reading material is dubious.
Furthermore, contrary to the second advice given by the reading passage that it is useful to organize volunteers to destroy cane tone and their eggs. The lecturer claims that untrained volunteers may cause directly damage to the native frog in the australia because they are not professional to distinct the native frog with the cane tone.
Last but not least, the listening material confute the third suggestion showed in the reading that developing a special virus which will specifically harm only the cane tone, by pointing out that virus attached in the cane tone may transport from australia to The United States,as a result, native cane tone will infect the virus therefore the local ecosystem will suff a great damage.Clearly it is a third point which in conflict with it’s counterpart in the reading.
