The line graph shows the size of the global population from 1400 to 2000, and the pie charts show the global population by region in 1900 and 2000. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant
The three graphs illustrate the worldwide population. Particularly, the two pie charts demonstrate the global population by continents in two specific years (1990 and 2000) while the line graph describes the growth of the world population from 1400 to 2000.
In general, during the six centuries period, the world population grew dramatically especially in asia and Europe.
The world population was estimated at under 500 million in 1400 before increasing slightly each centuries, and reached a peak at over 1.2 billion in 1700. Despite having a small decrease in 1800, the number rocketed to 6 billions in the next two centuries.
As can be seen from the pie charts, asia accounted for the largest shares (more than a half) in both years, followed by Europe. However, the two figure experienced a significant drop by 6% and 10% respectively. There was no change in the percentage of world population from North america, but the figure of Latin america, Africa and others increased largely by 5%, 8.5%, 2.5% respectively.
