The chart below shows the total number of minutes (in billions) of telephone call in the UK, divided into three categories, from 1995-2002.
The bar chart illustrates the total number of minutes in billions of United Kingdom cellphone calls which divided into three types: local, national and international, mobiles between 1995 and 2002. Overall, local calls remain the most popular, despite a bit of fluctuation, and the other two also show a general increase..
To begin with, the number of local calls started at just over 70 billions of minutes, then shows a gradual increase to 90 between 1995 and 1999, and declined steadily back to the start at roughly 70 billion for the last 3 years. It is also interesting to note that, a similar upward trend can be observed in the total number of minutes of Uk national and international, mobile calls. A steady increase can be seen in the total of domestic and foreign calls rose almost a doubled from approximately 30 to 60 over the period. Whereas, mobile calls stared at the low point at 1 but then went up dramatically to around 45.
If we compare the different types of service in the same year we can see that the huge variation between these three categories around 40 billions of minutes from 1995 to 1990 but from 200 to 2002, the was only a minor variation at under 20. Especially, in 2002 the difference between these kinds of calls dropped to only 10 billions of minutes each.
