The diagram shows the changes that have taken place at West Park Secondary School since its construction in 1950.
Given are three maps evincing the alternations that have occurred at West Park Secondary school from its first building from 1950 to 2010.
A brief analysis of the figures reveals that the most significant change has been done on houses and farmland, transforming them into three different sites.
In 1950, on the south side of the main road, there were homes and a school. The area behind the school was allocated to the playground, and on the left side it there was farmland.
By 1980, houses were demolished. School building took some parts of them and constructed a block for science. Moreover, farmland was replaced by the sports field. Besides, on the remaining site of houses, the car park was built.
However, in 2010, the school building remained unchanged, but the car park was extended where it covered the entire area of the sports field. Due to this enlargement, the first playground divided into two, providing a smaller playground and sports field.
