In this set of material, both the article and the lecturer discuss the evidence that claims that Sinosauropteryx have had feather. While the reading passage firmly alleges Sinosauropteryx did not have the feather, the lecturer repudiates all of the reasons which have represented by the essay.
Firstly, the professor articulates that the decomposition theory is not true due to there were some other animals' fossil in that site, but non of them had these lines. As a result, these lines represents the functional structure of a living dinosaur. On the other hand, the text asserts that the these lines formed after the death of the animal, as result of the decomposition of the animal's skin.
Moreover, the lecturer avers that there is a chemical difference between the feather and frill. In other words, in the feather there is a chemical substance which is named beta creatinine which does not exist in the frill. So, it is crystal clear that these lines are related to the feather of the Sinosauropteryx. Conversely, the text contends that scientista cannot firmly conceds that these lines are related to the feathers of the Sinosauropteryx and they may related to some other parts of the animal.
Finally, the professor declares that the feather in the animals have other functions than fly and thermoregulation such as attracting the mate. For example, the male peacock have the colorful feather to temptates the mates. This finction of the feather is named display function. He states that some researchs have revealed that the feather of the Sinosauropteryx was in orange and white color which is probable that has the dispaly function. On the contrary, the text mentions that the usual fuction of the feathers are thermoregulation and fly, and both of these applications are not useful for the Sinosauropteryx. So, the existance of the feather in the Sinosauropteryx is useless.
