Essay topics:

Scandals are useful because they focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could

In my view, upto some extent I agree with this statement, scandals have impact on society that they shift their focus on problems which they generally ignore or does not know about. But, what actually is a scandal? An Scandal is an outrageous event that shows us the bad face of society or actually a bad corner which is ignored many times.

The scandals are actually a bad thing happening in our society which people overlook until it has became a major issue. There are various scandals happening in our society like political scandals, entertainment media scandals, personal scandals which should be given emphasis so as to thrive our next generation with a great ascetic, that is moral character.

Nowadays various cases of scandals are being revealed like casting couch in entertainment media, various political scams like coal scam or crop scam in India and they have showed us the cruel or negative face of the leaders or the persons we admired which make us think twice before trusting any leader nowadays and that does not get limited only upto the leader. But, actually it marks bad impact on the overall political party or the niche they are coming from.

In response to these scandals, various types of movements are being carried out by the society, like "#MeeToo" movement which is focused on the casting couch scandals happening in the entertainment media and has thrown up names of such big people whom we admired a lot. The website like ‘wikileaks’ have shown us the negative dealings carried out by politicians, the politicians like who only come in the ruling for their own selfish purposes,

The social media has been of a huge help in all of this revealing of bad practices. But, leaders haven't stopped here. There are also allegations on social media companies that they steal data of this users and sell them to the leaders to know their political views.

But, people have become vigilant nowadays and they have came to know these type of scandals which have raised voice of people and thus there is a hope that these type of scandals will now get a pause or permanent termination. But, people should not wait for these scandals to happen and we should look into these social problems which we have overlooked to thrive a good society and complete evasion of these kind of issues.

Thus, in my opinion " Scandals are useful because they focus our attention on problems in ways no speaker or reformer ever could."
