The graph below shows average carbon dioxide emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.
The given graph illustrates the comparison of carbon dioxide emissions in terms of metric tonnes per one in the 4 selected countries during the period from 1967 over 40 years.
Overall, the average emissions were diverged through the period in all countries. While in Portugal and italy was seen a consistent increase, which is almost the equal in both trades, the number of carbon dioxide discharges in the United Kingdom and Sweden have seen the opposite trajectory, declining significant over the period.
The amount of emissions per person in Sweden greatly increased over the first decade and then, after reaching the highest point in the year 1977 in approximately 11 metric tonnes, the trend significantly declined more than twofold to nearly 5,7 in 2017.Comparatively, the same trajectory was more consistent in united kingdom, evidently, we can see, the proportion fell from 11 to 9 metric tonnes. In contrast, the gradual rise was in the average discharges in Italy and Portugal. Whilst the trend in italy has more relatively stable times, growing at nearly 3,7 from 4,2 to 7,9 per person, another one in Portugal was more constant, rising from 1,6 to about 5,5.
