The diagram illustrates the process of lithography: a method used for printing newspapers
The figure depicts the process of generation of lithography.
Overall it can be seen that the process by which newspapers are printed from lithography is a multistep, linear process which consists of 5 stages.
In the first stage, the plate is passed through dampening rollers, which provide a mixture of water and chemicals. Next, the plate passes through a set of ink rollers, where it is inked to the image area. After that, the plate goes through the blanket cylinder in order to squeeze out the water and the inked image area is picked up.
An impression cylinder forms the fourth stage of the process. Here, the paper runs between the impression cylinder and blanket cylinder, pressing the image onto the paper. In the fifth and final stage, the paper is dried with hot and cold air. The paper then enters the delivery pile.
