The charts represent the average proportions of sodium, saturated fats and added sugars consumed by the Americans in their meals which can cause health problems if eaten more than required.
Overall, it is clear that people in the USA consumes significant amount of sodium and saturated fat in their dinner whereas in terms of sugar, it is highly present in their snacks.
As the charts show, the amount of sodium is relatively higher in dinner than other meals which is 43%. Surprisingly, snacks and breakfast both have the equal percentage of sodium in them, at 14%. Similarly, people also take a high rate of saturated fat from their dinner which accounts for 37% while only 16% of this nutrient is present in their breakfast.
With regards to added sugar, it is extremely rich in snacks than other meals which represents 43%. However, unlike other meals, this figure is relatively lower in dinner which is 23%. Lastly, the proportion of sugar in breakfast and lunch is quite similar which is 16% and 19% respectively.
