The bar chart represents the percentage ratios of households in rented and owned accommodation in the country of England and Wales between years 1918 and 2011.

Overall, the household in rented accommodation showed a declining trend, while the households in owned accommodation showed an inclining trend throughout the period. Both the type of accommodations had minor fluctuations. Although households in owned accommodations initially had a lower rate, it outraced household in rented accommodation by the end of the period.

Household in owned accommodation was about 25% against Households in rented accommodation being at almost 75% in 1918. Then the household in owned accommodation increased and was almost 35% and remained stagnant in 1939 and 1953 then it saw a gradual increase up to almost 70% in 2001 and saw a final decline of 5% at 65% at the end of the period in 2011.

Household in rented accommodations was about 75% in 2001 which decreased to almost 65% in 1939 and remained almost stagnant in 1939 and 1953 and then it decreased to almost 50% in 1971 were the ratio of households in both the accommodations were exactly equal and finally household in rented accommodation saw a gradual decline up to 2001 and a final incline of almost 5% from 2001 at 35% in 2011.
