The bar chart compared the proportion of households in owned and rented accommodation from 1918 to 2011 in two countries.

In summary, the percentage of households in owned domicile was higher than rented place. Moreover, the number of family in owned accommodation in the raising trend, and the rented accommodation was in the opposite trend.

According to the graph, before 1971, the percentage of households in rented accommodation in the UK and Wales was higher than owned place. Household in owned accommodation accounted for 22% in 1918, which occupied the lowest proportion. At the same time, households in owned accommodation made up the highest percentage, which accounted for 78%.

As we can seen from the chart which clearly highlights the percentage between households in owned and rented were in the same, both accounted for 50% in 1971. Moreover, after 1971, the percentage of households in rented accommodation was lower than owned place. There are 69% of households in owned accommodation in 2001, however, the rented accommodation just accounted for 31% of households.
