The bar chart demonstrates the proportion of university students who chose certain subjects in 2005, divided into 8 courses.
Overall, it is clear that the most common choices were Science and Mathematics for male undergraduates, whereas for females were Social Sciences and Languages.
Firstly, the number of male students enrolling to Science was dominant the females with 22000 learners versus exactly 10000 learners. In addition, for Mathematics courses, the figure of enrollment from boys was also fourth time higher than the girls' one, around 18000 versus with under 5000 students. In contrast, Social sciences were preferred more by the freshwomen, 25000 enrollees compared with 14000 respectively for freshmen. Furthermore, the number of female undergraduates were significantly higher than the number of male students who apply for languages courses, with 18000 in females and just approximately 2000 for males.
While the above subjects were differentiated noticeably, the number of boys and girls enter for Humanities courses were equal to 12000 applies for each gender. The students of the Arts fields also seems to be dominated by the freshwomen with 9000 versus about 3000 students to males. Literature had 15000 of males students while there are only 11000 of females' one, and the enrollees of the law were about 20000 with 15000 in males and 5000 in females enrollees.
