Nuclear power provides over 11% of the world's electricity without carbon dioxide emission. According to some experts, emission of the greenhouse gases have reduced due to the use of nuclear power stations. Yet this energy source still provokes controversy.

Nuclear power does undoubtedly have its advantages. Unlike fossil fuels, nuclear power does not produce smoke and carbon dioxide to pollute the atmosphere or emit gasses that contribute to global warming and acid rain.
