A nation need a proper education system because an efficient education is the key for the development of a nation. The prompt states that government should offer college and university education free of charge to all students. I mostly disagree with the contention and argue that government should not offer college and university education free of charge to all students rather government should offer scholarship for a particular group of students and charge an education fee for rest of the students.
Firstly, for running a college and university, the authority needs a lot money. Some portion of this money come from country's budget, and some from the different leading institutions of the country. The portion, which come from the national budget, is for the development porpuses of the educational institutions, and the portion, which is come from some organizations, is for their own interests. For example, a pharmaceutical company has funded a university because that company want something from that university. Probably, that company want that the university's research group should develop a vaccine for the Covid-19 virus. However, a college and university also need a billion of money for their regular porpuses e.g. for the salary of the teachers and stuffs, to arrange different programs in the campus. From where will this large portion of money come? There are hundreds of college and university in a country, so it is not possible for a government to carry all the expanses, and the private companies always invest, where they will have a profitable output. Therefore, students themselves need to pay for managing the expanses of a college and university.
Moreover, if government offer free of cost education for all students, then there will be lack of competetion. For example, sometimes, almost in every colleges, there are some scholarships for the students, who will do extaordinary in their study. Therefore, if this scholarship already prevail for all the students, then there will less courage for a student to avail the scholarships. On the other hand, there are some students, who are economically deprived, and cannot afford money to study in college and university. Those students can get offer of free of cost education. Therefore, some talanted students should get some scholarships, and some pood students can get a offer of free of cost education; however, all the students should not be offered a education, which is free of cost.
In conclusion, some students are talented, and they also have not sufficient money to continue study, for those students government should facilitate some scholarships; however, a college and university need a lot of money for their continuous operation. Therefore, government should offer some scholarship for a particular group of students and charge education fees for the rest of the students.
