There is a public park near where you live. You have heard that the local council wants to sell this park.
Write a letter to a local newspaper. In your letter:
introduce yourself
describe the importance of the park
say what action you will take if the council continues with its plan
I am writing to bring your attention towards the unlawful approach of selling a shared park near my community.
My name is John Smith, a resident of Vaughan, living here for more than 6 years. I live in a condo which consists of 21 floors and includes underground parking, mainly occupied by families and students. In fact, near our dwelling, we have a beautiful garden named “Heart lake Park “where all the society members go to relax. Moreover, this park is of utmost importance for both kids and adults as everyone goes there to play games such as Badminton, Tennis, Soccer, Cricket, and mini-parties, get-together, respectively. However, this comfort and happiness seem to be disappearing soon, owing to our Local council, who is trying to sell this park for the new development plan. Furthermore, we were not even given any type of notice about this upcoming plan.
Being so close to this park and the greenery, me and other colony members are going to start a campaign against this illegal work, and we would like to feature about this activity in your newspaper “Times of Vaughan”, so that all the reader could also join this protest, which is starting the day after tomorrow on 23rd July at 11:00 pm. I would really appreciate it if you could help us save our local park.
I will look forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.
Yours Faithfully
John Smith
