There is a public park near where you live. You have heard that the local council wants to sell this park.
Write a letter to a local newspaper. In your letter:
• introduce yourself
• describe the importance of the park
• say what action you will take if the council continues with its plan
I am writing to request you to publish an article in your "Times of India" newspaper about the park in "Nanak Soceity", which the local council is about to sell.
I am John Sinha , working as a teacher. I have been living in "Nanak Society since past seven years and spending most of my evenings in this park with my students and friends.
As you know, parks play a trivial role in people's lives by providing a way to spend leisure time and doing some sports and exercises. Besides, what local council do not forget that park fosters community spirit, allowing people to socialize with each other. People of each age such as elderly, youngsters, and adults go there to inhale fresh air with the intention of relieving their tensions.
I would be grateful if you could try to convince the local council by promoting this issue as you already did great job in many other similar cases. Otherwise, people of my society are planning to write to state authorities regarding the canecllation of this selling.
I hope you would undertand the urgency this issue.
Yours faithfully,
John Sinha
