The charts show the proportion of holidaymakers of one region staying in different types of accommodation in three different years.
The given pie charts depict the percentage of holidaymakers of a particular region using different types of housing in three years 1989, 1998 and 2008.
Overall, it can be seen that staying with family and friends in holiday was dominant among four examined types of accommodation. Additionally, the proportions of people who stayed with family and friends and camped decreased, whereas the proportion of those who rented apartments and hotels slightly increased with time.
In 1989, the rate of people staying with family and friends accounted for 52%, while camping was exact a half of that, with 26%. Both these numbers went down with time, and in the next 20 years, 44% of people choosing to stay with family and friends and only 12% camped in holidays.
In contrast, the percentages of holidaymakers renting apartments and hotels increased over the surveyed year period. In 1989, only 7% rented apartments and 15% stayed in the hotels. However, in the year 2008, the figures for both these accommodation types were the same and stood at 22% for each.
