The illustration represents the information about the process of producing electricity in hydroelectric power stations.
Overall, it is clear that there are various steps performed in order to generate electricity. To begin with, water flows through a reservoir from the river and ends with the transmission of electricity to the national grid.
It is conspicuous from the graph that the process is a two-fold process that includes night and day processes. Initially, water from a river is channeled through a high-level reservoir backed up by a dam. Following this, Intake is opened during the day and water is flowed during the day to the power station. In addition to this, during the day, reversible turbines transfer water to the generator which leads to the development of the electricity and then transmitted to the nation grid by power lines. The rest of the water runs to a low-level reservoir during the day. However, in the night, water pumped back from low-level reservoir to high-level reservoir using reversible turbines. The important thing is that intake is closed during the night.
