In the near future, a small town, called Islip, will undergo an extensive development. This essay will highlight the major physical transformation of the pre and after development of the small town.
It is evident from the master plan issued officially by the municipality that the development will significantly bring a vivid change of the land use and road pattern in the north and south of the town. The north part will present an unprecedented shift in building organization; the previously grid structure is altered into a circular pattern. New spaces are also allocated for new functions, including a bus station, a car park, new housing, and a pedestrian way. Furthermore, the road will be reserved for a dual carriageway with a half-round road interweaving the eastern and the western part of Islip Town.
Moreover, the south part only portrays a slight conversion in land use, yet a massive road infrastructure development. The current land use is still preserved with an additional land function of new housing situated next to the park. The road, previously separated, will be connected, allowing a smooth trip from the western to the eastern part and vice versa.
Overall, the new immense development will modify the Islip town center to a more vibrant center with the additional land use of new various buildings and an interconnected, circular, and dual carriageway main road.
