The chart below shows the results of a survey about people's coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The bar chart illustrates statistics on coffee and tea consumption by people living in five different cities in Australia, namely Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Hobart.
Overall, in the last four weeks, people prefered to go to a cafe for coffee or tea, rather than buying fresh or instant coffee in the all mentioned cities except Adelaide. Moreover, in all five cities instant coffee was more popular than fresh alternatives.
In Sydney and Melbourne, the survey results show a similar trend. While in both cities around 60% of city residents had a cup of coffee or tea in a cafe, approximately 40-45% of people bought fresh coffee and about 45-50% prefered an instant version of the drink. 60% of Hobart residents preferred going to a cafe as well, but more people consumed instant coffee (close to 55%) and less people bought fresh drink (under 40%), than in Sydney and Melbourne.
Drinking habits in Brisbane and Adelaide had a certain amount of resemblance too. Residents of these cities drank only close to 35% of fresh coffee. There were just minor differences in the trends of buying fresh coffee and going out for a cup of this drink: in Brisbane those numbers were around 50-55% and in Adelaide - close to 50%.
