The diagram below shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparison where relevant.
The illustrated diagram indicates the process of exploiting underground heat in order to produce electric energy.
The progress contains 5 main stages, starting from pumping down low temperature water and end with the generator machine.
The first step of getting geothermal heat is leading water, which was stored before in cold situation so as to cool down its heat, through a 4.5-kilometer-long tunnel down into the ground. So that the cold water will meet the injection well in stage 2. The second step will be processed once the previous water continue its way underground where is full of hot rocks and therefore be called as geothermal zone. Thereafter, the water will gain a boiling temperature from the geothermal zone, meet the standards and be pumped up at the production well to a container labelled condenser.
The forth step begins right after the hot water is lead to the condenser, thus the sweltering steam will be used for the end of geothermal power plant. It is the turbine that will be powered by the mentioned steam and will swing swiftly, resulting in moving the energy into the generator. In the generator, the heat energy will be transformed in another type of energy, the electricity. Henceforth the electricity power are ready to be distributed to others requiring places and phases.
