The given charts depict the explanations and the prime problems for the travelling public in the US in 2009.
Overall, most people argued for their travel inasmuch as they needed to commute to and from work. Meanwhile, price of travel was the underlying issue for the travelling public.
At the bar chart, nearly half of US residents surveyed travelled by reason of work, which was more than double the rate of those with personal reasons, at 19%. Meanwhile, the percentage of US inhabitants with their reason of shopping was 16%, followed by 10% and 6% of those taking social/recreation and their need to visit friends/relatives into account, respectively.
With regard to the main issues for travelling public, 36% of US people surveyed cited price of travel as their problem. The same figure was seen in the proportions of those concerned about safety and aggressive drivers, at almost 18% each. In the meantime, highway congestion was the fourth most common issue, which was considered by 14% of US inhabitants. Finally, the rates of those worrying about access to public transport and space for pedestrians were 8% and 6%, correspondingly.
