Nowadays, there is a tendency for waste to be increasingly produced and littered out to the environment. From my point of view, this situation is the result that is caused by some possible issues and it can be solved in suggested ways.
There are many reasons why individuals litter more today than in the past. One of the major issues associated with this is that because of people’s daily needs. Nowadays, with the development of technology, the number of up-to-date electronic consumers bought sharply increases and people would do away the old ones as soon as the new ones come up. Moreover, it is noticeable that plastic bags that contain raw food and cooked food are needed on a regular basis as people go to the market daily; and many students under academic pressure buy more and more school supplies which only can be used for a short time. Additionally, a pandemic called COVID 19 which is happening around the world has been causing the increasing demand for masks resulting in the rise in medical waste that deteriorates the environment.
Nevertheless, the problem could be solved in certain ways. One solution to this issue is for the government to raise people's awareness and allocate more funds to the infrastructure of the waste elimination process. If the process was not handled well, the impact would be detrimental and not only the environment would be affected but people’s health could be also put at risk. In addition, the government plays an essential role in raising residents’ awareness and encouraging them to use more environmentally friendly products. Moreover, people should take action instantaneously; for example, they are suggested to start buying more goods that are long-lasting or they can recycle plastic bags and bottles to reduce waste. Eco-friendly products such as straws made from glass or papers, reusable shopping bags and stainless steel drink bottles are also encouraged.
In conclusion, people tend to litter more these days due to several reasons, however, this problem can still be prevented by certain measures.
