Overall, the shares of people in 4 age groups who went to the movie once a month followed an upward trend. Also, the rate of people aged 15-24 going to the film monthly was always the highest compared to other age groups.
In 1984, the percentage of the 15-24 age group who went to the movie every month was around 17%, much higher than the rate of people agedup35, at a mere of roughly 1%. The period between 1984 and 2000 witnessed a gradual increase in the proportion of people age 15-24 and 35 and visiting the movie theater monthly, by about 58% and 15% respectively.
