As can be seen, car is by far the most preferred means of transport in Edmonton. Of the five reasons for car use in the city, most people choose commuting to work as the main reason.
Specifically, with nearly half of the residents showing preference for car (45%), this transport becomes the most widely used in the city. Closely following is the second popular mode, Light Rail Transit, when its figure is less than the dominant merely 10%. In contrast, bus and taxi tend to be the least favored mode, sharing the same user’s percentage of 10%.
When it comes to the reason for car use, it appears that a large proportion of 55% residents utilize this mode for work commuting. They also favor using car for business and taking children to school, whose proportions account for 45% and 40% respectively. Only a minimal 15% of inhabitants prefer to go shopping and do leisure activities by this mode of transport.
