The graph below shows population figures for India and China since the year 2000 and predicted population growth up until 2050.
The line graph compares how many citizens in India and China in 2000, and how this figure will change over the period until the prediction of the year 2050.
In general, it is obvious that the population of all regions witnessed an upward trend over the period shown. In addition, the number of inhabitants of China will be lower than that of India in the future.
In 2000, the population in India was 1 billion, 1.25 times less than that in China. Over the next 20 years, a similar pattern was recorded in 2020 owing to the marginal growth of that population. In particular, the number of inhabitants in China with approximately 1.4 billion, compared to roughly 1.3 billion in India.
During the predicted years, starting from the year 2030, the population in both India and China will stand at roughly 1.45 billion, before changing in the next 20 years. The number of citizens in India will continue to increase in the future and will stop at 1.6 billion in 2050. The opposite will express in China because the population will have a slight decrease to 1.4 billion in 2050.
