The graph below shows the proportions of four different materials that were recycled from 1982 to 2010 in a particular country.
The provided graph compared the figure for four types of materials throughout 29 years, starting from 1982.
It can be seen that for categories the overall trend was upward with the exception of paper & cardboard though it was coming top during the examined period.
Accounting for nearly 65% in 1982, paper & cardboard experienced a fluctuation before peaking at exactly 80% in 1982. There was a gradual decrease to 40% in the proportion of Glass containers during the first 3 years before another growth of 10% was recorded. To be precise, in the rest examined time, Glass containers and Paper & cardboard experienced a completely reverse pattern. White glass containers witnessed a dramatic increase of 10%, the latter fell rapidly by the same figure. Despite the drop in paper cardboard's figure, it still ranked first during the given time.
When it comes to the remaining, there was a minimally similar trend in Aluminium cans and plastic. The proportion of Aluminium cans only stayed at nearly 5% in 1986, and then, it surged remarkably and reached the highest point of 47% by the end of the period. In contrast, a moderate growth of 5% was recorded in the proportion of plastic, which made it to become the least common recycled thing.
